2019-02-15 • We have just launched a competition for the architectural and urban concept of a part of the Žižkov Freight Station (Nákladové nádraží Žižkov) in Prague.
Penta Real Estate - together with SUDOP and České Dráhy – have invited local and foreign architects, architectural practices and teams to an open two-round international architectural and urban design competition. This aims to find the best proposal for a large-scale residential scheme in the Prague city part of Žižkov.
The competition site is located in the eastern part of Žižkov, on the north-east edge of the former Nákladní Nádraží Žižkov (Žižkov Freight Station).
This area will undergo a large-scale redevelopment with a focus on residential usage.
We are confident that our project – defined by its location, atop a mound with views to the south and separated from the rest of the area by a mature line of trees – has strong potential to transform the location into an attractive, convenient, and comfortable place to live.
Mainly residential, with approximately 500 apartments (min. 46 200 sqm GFA) combined with public amenities (commercial or non-commercial function) of local significance.

Open, two-round, non-anonymous architectural and urban design competition for local and international architects, architectural practices and teams.
First round is an open prequalification round. A valid submission must include a maximum 10-page portfolio presenting previous experience, references, and general proposal idea.
Five proposals selected by the jury will progress to the second round, where participants will be asked to create and present a more detailed proposal.
Local and international architects, architectural practices and teams can participate in the architectural competition.
Participants must register, and accept the competition’s terms and conditions.
The jury comprises 10 members. Five members independent from the organizer and five members representing the organizer.

This competition is organized and fully funded by a private corporation, and is not subject to public procurement/tender regulations.
It is not a public competition for a best offer pursuant to Clause 1772 et seq. of Act 89/2012 Coll. of the Civil Code of the Czech Republic.
It is governed by the rules and terms set forth in this brief, and by the generally binding applicable legal regulations of the Czech Republic.
